I have been using malleable copper for years, and this is excellent material. I created butterflies for a piece of garden art, and this has performed beautifully in my back yard. **Q: Is any iron or aluminum added to this?** A: No. I don't think so... Just copper. I use it to make leaves and grass blades that are then soldered to copper wire for stems... If either aluminum or iron was in it, I don't think it would take the solder. **Q: Could this be used to create faux cabinet panels, if secured with half round beading?** A: I secured mine to quarter inch thick plywood with 3M Spray 77. The plywood panels then fit in grooves in a wood called Pau Lope (ipe). My panels have been outdoors for over a year in northern Ohio and are holding up wonderfully. Half round beading should work but I would try the spray adhesive to keep the copper flat on your substrate. This copper is quite thin and it may wrinkle if you just tack the perimeter. I also took a small hammer and pounded lightly on my copper panels to create the hammered look. Keeping this thin copper perfectly flat and smooth is difficult. Good luck. **Q: Can I use this to cover switch plates?** A: 36 gauge is thin enough to cut with scissors. It wrinkles easily, but if you are careful you could absolutely cover switch plates. Also I found this product tightly wound and with some waves. 36 gauge from Maid-o-Metal is easier to flatten out, in my opinion. Patinas great with both liver of sulfur and/or vinegar and salt. Thin and soft enough to cut with metal shears but strong enough to hold its shape for tooling or stamping. Great product! It is harder for manual cutters like the Big Shot and Grand Calibur to cut it, and overall it's worth having to cut it as a single piece. The added thickness gives more substance to any die cuts as they are not so flimsy.The craft foil from this Seller is high quality regardless of whether it's the copper or the colored aluminum foil.
