I've had two of these, its a frustrating piece of kit. I use it all the time for light painting interiors and exteriors, the results are great, lovely soft adjustable light and you can just screw a 80B to it for natural light. The problem is, it just does not feel like a professional piece of kit. The plastic battery enclosure is badly designed, I have to tape it to stop the battery popping out. I leave it on its side when I'm not using it because its top heavy and can fall over and break if you don't place it upright carefully. Doesn't fit snugly into a camera bag and for its size you would expect more power. I'm confused as to why there is nothing else on the market to compare this too? Maybe thats why its so expensive....Its great for video too, the light is soft enough to light a person with no diffusion. The battery is a bit heavy for the door so it pops off easily. I have to keep tape on it to keep it in, but other than that, I've really loved it. I use it for video and photo and the portability and versatility is amazing. It's intensely warm, but I like warm images. In daylight it definitely goes very warm and unless you want that look, you'll want a balancing filter. It's more powerful than the IceLights, but the light isn't quite as soft without diffusion. I like that you can pop it up into an umbrella or whatever if you don't want the intensely round shape it creates. Really, it's a great light. I feel like I've been waiting for a product like this for a long time. The snoot is a dream come true. It is so precise and you can snoot it down to just hit the face of your subject or whatever. I can't speak more highly of it.
