New cable housings and cable ends are also an important part of this procedure to ensure that the job is properly done, and these I also purchased on desertcart. Several cable ends and housing ends, as well as small silicone "donuts" to eliminate cable rattle against the bike frame are included with the cables. The cables arrive in two different lengths, to accommodate the front and rear derailleurs. A light coat of grease can help ensure smooth operation and help prevent rust for many years.
