Hope this helps **Q: Do I need to buy an adaptor to plug it in ?** A: It needs a usb socket you can get a 13amp three pin plug with usb ports built in . it is a brilliant little pump but will clog up with debri now and again so keep an old toothbrush handy to clean it . If you place the pump on the bottom it will block up quickly . Perfect for the job, the cats are very happy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lasted 14 Months *by H***D on 22 February 2022* Purchased to replace a pet fountain pump. It has lasted exactly 14 months and is now not working. It has been used everyday 24/7 so I think it's probably not too bad it lasted this long. I did maintain it very well it got fully pulled apart and cleaned every 2 days, absolutely every nook and cranny as they say. I did purchase a second one of these about 8 months after the first purchase and it's still going and should be going for at least as long as the first one, fingers crossed. I was going to repurchase but I've ordered somethibg else to give it a try. The new one is mains powered as opposed to usb which is what I think gave up the ghost on this pump, a dodgy usb cable. I still would recommend this and probably would repurchase for the price, I feel 14 months of continuous use isn't too bad value wise. UPDATE I've added a video of the pump in action to show other potential buyers in particular those purchasing for use in a Pet Water Fountain the pump in action. As you can see it is completely silent and I'm unsure as to why other reviewers have said it is noisy, I can only assume they've received a faulty one which can happen. It has an adjustable slider to increase or decrease water flow I have mine set to the absolute minimum due to the shallowness of my ceramic water fountain, anything more than the minimum is far too strong for my needs personally.
