These have met or exceeded my expectations. They are light and comfortable. Colors and contrast are sharp. In regard to the photochromic capability, the lenses are smoky gray at baseline. They do darken in bright sunlight, but the change is not as dramatic as some glasses I've had in the past. Some reviewers rave about them for driving, but sunlight passing through glass will not activate photochromic lenses. These are already slightly darkened which could explain the perceived benefit. Mine are labeled Z87 on one of the lenses and on one of the temples despite complaints of the lack of labeling by some reviewers. Given the A B and C designations, I do think it would be easy to click on an attractive frame and inadvertently order glasses other than the intended ones. I have taken 1 star away from my initial review because I think my initial impression that the lenses darken in bright sunlight was over generous. The photochromic effect is minimal if it occurs at all.
