I think it's great that she gives references showing that it's research based. But I don't agree 100% with everything she says. For instance, the author says giving a hug/cuddling a child during a tantrum will help shorten the tantrum and restore emotional balance. I think this can help in some instances, but not all. Like what if my child is disobeying, I tell her that is not acceptable, she throws a tantrum and I give her a hug? Wouldn't that be giving her the idea that I'm caving in or rewarding her bad behavior? I just would have appreciated tips on how to approach various types of tantrums, not just one approach for all. Overall, there are great pointers in the book and I'm glad I read it.
