He was hospitalized for about 4 months receiving high doses of chemo due to Leukemia relapse. He started having severe constipation at the hospital and the doctors prescribed all sort of stool softeners, laxatives and enemas to help. For weeks we struggled trying to pinpoint if the problem was food-related (we started ruling out milk, and cheese -- lactose) and it seemed to get a bit better, but not really.
