That means that the actual measurements become more important because some size 16s are made for women with more waist, others for women who are more hourglass. These 16 relaxed have a 36" waist and 44" hips. I personally find them very comfy, but the waist does loosen during the day which is why belts can be handy as well as decorative. Because i only wear flats now i have had to hem these. Luckily, the inside fabric is much lighter in shade than the outside fabric, so hemming these is easy on the eyes. I would have given 4.5 stars if i could because i think that perhaps i might prefer these jeans without spandex, but since that option does not exist and the spandex does make them deliciously soft i went with five stars.Later note: the most recent two pairs i have ordered are not nearly as good as the first three. There are two reasons: fabric and workmanship. The fabric is thinner. It also does not have the lighter shade inside so hemming is much harder on eyes. The workmanship is more variable in measurements, so i had to take the legs up different amounts, and need a belt with one pair which is also a tad too long in the crotch. My suspicion is that Lee outsources production to various contractors with those varying in quality.All five pairs were purchased in early 2015. The two items in the second order cost more each than the better three.Summary: i would give the first two pairs five stars, but only three stars to the second two. Measure, measure, measure before hemming due to variability. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Color Off *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2022* Be careful when ordering the color you want. I wanted a real dark blue, the Authentic Nile looked like the darkest pair but they are actually quite light. The Niagra which I also bought are nice and dark. Also be aware that the different colors have different fabric contents. The Niagra are 82% cotton as stated in the description, the Authentic Nile are 92% cotton so not as much spandex which means not as much stretch. All that being said I am mostly satisfied with the jeans. I have always like Lee jeans and have had a hard time finding them - was glad to get them. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A bit off size wise. *by G***N on Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2021* Those pants are very comfy, light fabric - perfect for summer, very nice stretch. Actually too nice stretch.But I'm not sure about sizing. I'm tall and wear size 24 (sometimes fit into 22), 34" inseam. I was happy to find long/tall version and ordered size 24Long.33" (as offered here) is sometimes acceptable (if it IS 33"). Well the length of those jeans that I got is actually 32,5", which is a bit short for me. It could be 33" if I stretch it down, but who's gonna walk like this - stretching own pants down? And the stretch is sooo good, that I have to pull pants up all the time!I think I'm going to order a size smaller to try and hope they stretch down, as one one previous comments mentioned.
