I didn't have a problem getting it in the hoop. I did tape the edges but I'm old-school and that's how I do it. You may not have to it seemed like the edges are not in any danger of being frayed while working. The colors are spot on and when my work was complete, I was afraid when I washed it that it would bleed, but the sink never turned pink so the fabric bleeding on my work wasn't an issue.
