Sadly, we tried to make it in the USA but part costs were going to be almost 3 times the cost as made in China, and we realized people wouldn't want to pay $84 for a pair of these, so we made them in China. The reason US manufacturing is so much more is because they tend to focus on medical or high-tech industries, and so charge a premium. So to make these feeders good quality and affordable, we used American engineering + Chinese manufacturing, during which we paid about 33% tariff on importing straight to the US Government. Like many of you, we are unsure of what to make of the situation, but we really want to make cool and useful products for Americans, designed in America, so right now we manufacture wherever we must to make products happen. At this time our bucket feeder is fully assembled in the U.S. by a family that's been here since the 1600's. **Q: Will this fit 2 gallon buckets?** A: Yes, although we cannot guarantee that it will form a water-tight seal to that size container.
