I replaced the stock tuners on a low end Hofner Shorty which were really bad! These turn so easily and hold tune well. Dropped right in too, albeit slightly heavier than the stock ones. I did have to ream my peg holes for them to fit. (Use a reamer and not a drill bit to save your paint). So far they seem to hold tune pretty well. There is a definite dead spot between changing directions on these. I'm used to it but it doesn't thrill me. I used them on a knock around guitar and it's great for that but for a better guitar I'm spending more and going with grover. These are pretty good for the price though.
