Michael Luzzi’s rhymes capture the absurdity of the Trump administration with unbridled candor and hilarity. The writer's choice of nursery rhymes as a format for this parody seems eminently appropriate. They echo the jostling, name calling, impulsive outbursts and gamesmanship of the White House as if they were taking place on a noisy, unruly playground. The illustrations are just as much fun as they are faithful to the cause -- realistic, scrappy, full of agitated energy.These poems help me to vent and beg to be read aloud to others. In this upside down world of Trumpdom, the rhythms of poems and songs I grew up with (“I’m a Little Teapot” as “I’m an Orange Crackpot”, “Baa Baa Black Sheep” as “Baa Baa Donald”, “Itsy Bitsy Spider” as “Itsy Bitsy Betsy” etc.) are also somehow comforting.
