Review: Great product! - I was first introduced to this product by a clinical nutritionist in a health food store. I had hypoglycemic symptoms and he suggested I increase my protein I'm my diet but this one was best because of the rice protein base which is better than having processed soy like others or whey which I'm allergic to cause it's fermented. This powder made such a difference in balancing my blood sugar. I use it every morning with almond milk and banana. It's yummy and blends perfectly. It's great for me adding to my well balanced diet giving my body superior healthy protein!

It is a little chalky and it is not sweetened but if you add it to chocolate milk you don't taste the difference. but only put one heaping tablespoon to two cups of milk. and if you are using normal milk add a tablespoon of sugar to it

**Q: Does this protein have ANY sweetener ---- stevia? maltitol? I am looking for a PLAIN powder with no sweetener. thnx**
A: I chose this protein powder specifically because it did not contain any sweetners or flavors.  It is plain brown rice protein powder.

**Q: How much protein per serving ?  Serving size?  How many servings per Can?**
A: The container states 1 heaping Tablespoon is a serving size and there are 11 grams of protein in that amount.  The three lb. container states it has 85 servings.  My nutritionist says each meal of the day should contain at least 20-25 Grams of protein so I double the amount I use in a smoothie, that works out to 1/4 C.  and then the large container would provide roughly 42 servings.

**Q: how does this differ from the organic version?**
A: By about the cost of a $500 fee to the California state government to label the fields as "organic." According to the Nutribiotic website, both are Non-GMO and grown without pesticides and fertilizers. Both are processed using only filtered water and enzymes. The organic variety is guaranteed to come only from registered organic farms.

**Q: Is this tested for heavy metals?**
A: Thank you for your interest in our products!  NutriBiotic Rice Protein is made from non-GMO, whole grain, sprouted brown rice and produced without chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, and PCBs.  Each and every batch of our Rice Protein is 3rd Party Independent Laboratory Tested for Heavy Metals. Our Rice Protein meets the standards set by the European Union, Canadian Natural Health Products Directorate, US FDA, as well as other health organizations.  The rice protein raw material used in our Rice Protein has received approval as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe), which are standards set forth by the US FDA.

We believe there should be heavy metals limits in natural and dietary products, and we are continually looking for the cleanest sources of Rice Protein available. Individuals need to be aware of the sum of heavy metals in all foods they consume within a day.  Heavy metals are a factor in all foods we eat.  We consume more metals daily in common foods, from kale, avocados, peanut butter, sweet potatoes, tuna, celery, asparagus, strawberries, mushrooms, apple juice, spinach, to spices, than we consume from plant-based supplements.  Some metals, such as iron, copper, chromium, cobalt, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, and zinc are required by the human body in small amounts as essential nutrients.  Any metal, including those that are essential to the body to function, can cause toxicity if introduced at high levels (Total Diet Study Statistics on Element Results, December 11, 2007, Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, U.S. Food and Drug Administration). Lead is an element found everywhere in nature—in our air, food, rivers, seawater, soils, and even our drinking water.  Because there is a range of lead levels found in food, any natural product derived from food sources grown in the ground will contain detectable levels of lead.  All Rice Proteins made from sprouted brown rice contain levels of lead.  We regularly conduct tests on our products to ascertain any lead levels are within the legal limitations.  Currently, our maximum allowable amount of lead is 5.25 mcg (micrograms) per daily serving, but always runs below that amount.  5.25 mcg is the maximum we would ever allow.  Recently, it has been less than 2.69 mcg of lead per daily serving.  NutriBiotic Rice Proteins have all been found to be well below the No Observed Effect Level (safety level), and well within safety limits for health within the FDAs Provisional Total Tolerable Intake (PTTI) level for adults.

Love it drink it every morning. the rice protein is very easy to digest. I have been buying this Rice Protein vanilla powder for a while now and really like the products. I mix it with unsweetened coconut milk, or regular milk and 1/2 to 1 banana and some frozen blueberries or raspberries. The flavor is actually pretty good and I don't have to add anything sweet to it and it seems just sweet enough. I like the fact that there is only 60 calories in two tablespoons and only 1 gram of sugar, and I know adding the coconut milk and/or regular milk and banana and berries add to the calories, but I still think it's better than buying the pre-mixed shakes or weight loss powders with those added sweeteners, etc. I know some reviews say they don't like the gritty taste, but I don't think it's that gritty when mixing it in my Ninja, which I'm sure helps. I would think it WOULD be more gritty if mixed in a glass or shaker and mixed that way (like the directions suggest) rather than mixed in a blender. I also don't think that I would just add water, as I think the added ingredients that I put in help with the flavor, but then I have not tried it with just water yet! All-in-all, I really like this product and will definitely keep buying it.
