Rechargable.Cons:The handle is poor quality, as the rod frequently twists around, and the handle even pulled off. The tightening mechanism is plastic and does not stay tight. This is very aggravating and disappointing.Seems to lose it's power too soon, requiring recharging. Difficult to adjust the sprayer head to a small stream. I am 77 and this sprayer is way too heavy empty for me to lift and even though it is on wheels, it will be difficult to maneuver full. The direction book is a joke. Not one picture to help identify the parts and where the pieces go. When attempting to carry it from first to second floor, the handle comes off making it difficult to transport. I had to tie a rope around it to keep the handle in place and not slide off while going upstairs with it.
