We formulated Sculpey III with the crafting process in mind, so it won't harden while you're shaping it. With our non-drying, flexible formula, you and your kids can let your imaginations run wild. This economical pack is a great way to create with larger groups, camps and classrooms. Great for beginners, general crafters and kid/parent projects due to its soft, easy to use texture. Our Sculpey III formula is also completely safe and non-toxic, so you can invite the entire family to join in on your crafting process. Whether you and your kids want to create your own creations from scratch or make small accents for objects around your house, our unique formula can handle whatever craft you have in mind. Because our one-of-a-kind formula will only harden when you bake it in your home oven, you can keep shaping and reshaping your clay until you get your creations just right. And your extra Sculpey III won't harden, so it will be ready next time you want to craft. BAKING INSTUCTIONS: Bake at 275 °F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per 1/4 in (6 mm) thickness. Do not microwave. Do not exceed the above temperature or recommended baking time. While crafting - Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey Tools Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately. STORAGE INFORMATION: Our products contain a date code that indicates the date of production, but not “sell by date”. Oven-bake clays, when stored correctly in a cool, dry place, below 77°F and out of direct sunlight, have an expected shelf life of a few years. • Shelf life can be impacted by environmental conditions, including heat and humidity, during shipping and storage. We store the clay at Polyform in a cool and dry environment. • Improper storage may affect the quality of the clay. One aspect of oven-bake clays is that they react to very warm temperatures. • Proper polymer clay storage is essential to freshness. The clay should be stored in a clay compatible container in a very cool, dry place, unexposed to the direct rays of the sun. We recommend containers or bags made out of polypropylene (PP) plastic. Hint: Look for the recycling symbol #5 on the bottom of the container. • DO NOT store in a hot environment above 77°F. • DO NOT store in direct sunlight. • DO NOT store inside a car. Make your craft supplies shopping your last stop. • Store the clay in a cool, dark and dry place. Polymer clay can be stored at low temperatures with no ill effects to the properties of the clay. • Tip: Refrigeration or freezing can extend the shelf life considerably. In the summer months, the clay may become partially cured if your climate is very hot and your house is not air-conditioned. • Improper storage may affect the quality of the clay. **Q: dumb question but i've never ordered clay before. approximately how big is 8oz of clay? lol can someone give me an idea how big the block is?**
A: It's not a dumb question. lol :) An 8oz block is around 1in tall2in wide, and 5in long. So you get plenty of clay! :)

**Q: What is the difference between sculpey iii and just plain old sculpey?  i want to use it to make large beads and ornaments.**
A: Hello,The original sculpey just comes in White and Terra Cotta and the III comes in a variety of colors and sizes.  The III is also a little stronger clay and has less of a filler.  If you are going to be making large beads and ornaments the manufacturer suggested that you put a compressed ball of aluminum foil inside the ball.  That way you less clay as well.Thanks

**Q: Can this be painted? If so, with what kinds of paint?**
A: Yes, I'd also use acrylic paints.

**Q: Is sculpy waterproof**
A: I think so. It's very  porous though. I put an acrylic media on the finished piece to seal it.
