## Description

TotalBoat inflatable bottom paint is ideal for rubber, PVC, and Hypalon inflatables. This ablative antifouling provides a durable, flexible protective coating that won't crack or lift when the boat is deflated and rolled up. Use in both fresh and salt water to repel barnacles and growth. This water based bottom paint can be thinned up to 10% with water (if needed), is easy to apply by brushing, rolling (3/16" solvent-safe roller cover), or spraying (airless or conventional), and cleans up using simple soap and water. Water-based formula means no toxic solvents or nasty fumes.25% copper content wears away at a controlled rate to provide season long antifouling protection. No launch time restrictions. You can paint now and launch later. Gray color looks great on all inflatables. Sold in Quarts. One quart provides approx 125 sq ft, typically enough for 2 coats on an 8 to 10 ft boat. Recoat dry time is 3 hrs. at 70 degrees F. Before launching, wait 6 to 10 hours, depending on temperature conditions.Compare to Pettit Inflatable Boat Paint, Sea Hawk Inflatable boat paint, Aquagard Inflatable Bottom Coating, and MDR desertcart Inflatable Bottom Coat. Review: Don't forget to protect your dinghy - I used this to paint a West Marine 310 RIB dinghy that I bought this year. After a thorough cleaning and prepping the fiberglass bottom with some 100 grit sanding blocks and painters tape, we painted the hull in 2 coats. (I didnt use a primer.) I shook the paint for a few minutes before opening it and stirring but have to say it reconstituted much better than I expected. There was plenty of paint left to do 2 more coats if I wanted to but 2 coats looked good. Both the PVC and fiberglass surfaces took the paint with ease. I used a cheap brush from Home depot as my expectations were that the brush would be non-reusable. I let the 2 coats dry for 24 hrs before putting it in the boat in the water. After the dry time the finish looked good, you could see some minor brush marks but this is bottom paint not car enamel. I chose this paint over Pettit mostly for the price but also for the fact that its made near where I use the boat in RI. I figure they should know the waters of the bay and whats needed to protect a boat. Paint shipped with gloves, mixing sticks and a paint cup. So far its only been a week but it looks good. No cracks in the paint on the PVC. I'll update the review at the end of the season. Update: End of Season 1 (November 2015). Paint held up very well. I cleaned the bottom of the dinghy with a pressure washer at the end of the season and did an inspection. I have to say the paint looks very good. I expected the paint to crack and flake off but its solid. The only areas showing wear is on the keel from where I beached it but even there it didnt wear all the way through. It just looks scraped. I'm adding a star. I wont need to paint next year. Hopefully I can remember to update my review again next year.
Review: If you're going to keep your dinghy in the water, paint the bottom - We thought we would take our dinghy out of the water. We were wrong and lazy. We pulled it behind us for several months in South Florida. When we finally pulled it out of the water, I think it weighed twice as much as it normally did because of the incredible growth of barnacles. It took the two of us about 4 hours to scrape everything off. Hopefully this paint will solve the problem of barnacle growth if not our laziness.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What preparation is needed before applying to the inflatable PVC hull**
A: Clean and dewax the hull, make sure it is free of dirt, oil, grease and debris.

**Q: wanting to protect the bottom of the boat from sharp objects. Will this work for that purpose?**
A: No it will not protect from sharp objects.

**Q: will This work on plastic hulls**
A: If you mean GRP, it works fine on glass-reinforced plastic of a RIB, for example. I've used it successfully for about 5 years.
