So 2.25 in will fit two inch holes on center **Q: description doesn't specify the inner diameter/center. which u bolt will fit around an 8inch fence post?** A: I bought the 4 1/2 in and my caliper shows it at 4 35/64, so just over 4.5in. If the diameter of your fence post is 8'', then order an 8'' ubolt and it should fit.
