I noticed a burnt/electrical smell after the cleaning cycle, which I looked into and found is due to UV-C light producing small amounts of ozone. Ozone has a distinctive sharp, “burnt plastic” or electrical smell, so I always check for that scent after use — and it’s consistently present. There is also a small light pass-through at the top of the box where a blue glow is visible. I confirmed this by shining a light from inside the unit. So if you see that blue light, it means the UV light is active. Ps: The plug is US model, although they do supply a UK to US adapter (4 stars because of this reason)
