I order the 30’ **Q: Is anyone else getting noise on their Mic while this is plugged in?** A: No noise with ours and we use for 2 cameras. **Q: Why does my shipping label say there are lithium baterries in my package every time i order these? it's a battery charger, not a battery.** A: If you get just s charger without the actual batteries, then there aren't any lithium batteries in your package, unless it's a wireless charger. The shipping label is most likely automatically generated without human common sense. **Q: Do i still have to have a battery in the camera?** A: We do as backup...they're plugged into the wall, as the batteries need to be recharged every 2-3 months. My camera is mounted atop a pole so the cable runs up the outside of the pole and connects to the camera that is on a mount. Currently it is attached to an extension cord and lays on the ground. I purchased a cord protector from Lowes that protects against moisture getting into the connection between the extension cord and the USB power module. We have had some heavy rain and everything is working great. The connector on this cable the plugs into the back of the camera is nice and tight, I had to work at it to get it connected, which is to be expected in a tight fit. I probably looked at most of them and scanned through the reviews. There seems to be quite a bit of confusion as to what is actually needed to power and charge the Arlo cameras.I found this on the Arlo site support forum (hopefully you will never have to look for support information): the camera requires two different voltages, a lower voltage for the camera, and a higher voltage to charge the battery. Additionally, the camera requires a specific type of cable plug to feed the two voltages. I don’t remember the exact type of plug, and none of the various sellers claim they have that specific type (besides being weather proof). The charger has to be Qualcomm 2.0 version or equivalent (it supplies the two voltages).I have the Arlo Pro 2 three-camera system. I purchased three of these cable/chargers.They arrived neatly packaged in a small box (each cable/charger). The box has a charger, a 20’ indoor/outdoor cable, and a small baggy of very nice nail-on cable stays for routing the cable to wherever. The charger is a Qualcomm 3.0.I did test the cable/charger before I installed it. I let the camera battery run down to ~80%, then removed it, then connected the camera. Yup, the camera came on, functioned perfectly fine. I put the battery back in the camera and let it sit for a while with the power connected. The battery fully charged, with the phone app showing the charge symbol and 100%. The external power allows you to set up to three zones per camera where you want it to look for movement and where to ignore.All said, the slightly higher price is worth getting a Qualcomm wall wart and the cable clamps.I’ll check back on this review in 6 or months, give an update.
