Review: Your eye protection on your monitors might not work with this. - My setup is this. I have a very powerful video card that I use for image generation. I use this so I can run both of my large monitors off of my motherboard and cpu. It does a fine job, but during startup, my screens go to sleep sometimes when it's inconvenient. My eye protection software that takes the blue light and reduces it at night does not work with it. It will go in with my laptop case, for I am installing a new power brick in my computer.So I can run two video cards. This was only a temporary fix between paychecks. It does its job, but it is not totally what I need. I know there's arguments for the contrary, but they could make the cord on the thing a little bit longer. It is an adapter not a dongle. It seems pretty durable and like it would last a while. So I do not see myself in a situation where I would have to buy a new one for a while. It is made well from seemingly durable plastic material, and it is a small device. It plugs into my Thunderbolt port and gives me 2 HDMI outs for two separate 4K monitors. It gives me the same problems whether I'm using windows Linux or my wife's Mac, operating system has nothing to do with the problem areas. And if I had my laptop on a table and needed to do a presentation where I had to plug into a larger screen via an HDMI cable, this would suit me fine. It is not a long term solution for my large home computer.

That however is an Apple thing not playing nice w/ the rest of the world- I don't believe any non Apple native splitter will work with MacOS as a second display. With Windows OS, works straight forward. For Macs..there is a easy work around if you want this work as extended display (2 displays left and right): To do this you simply plug in one of your HDMI cables to this adapter, then plug this adapter to the USB C port on the Mac. Then plug in your second HDMI cable directly to the Mac. After that you'll just have to toggle your display settings as you would with any dual monitor setup.

**Q: Will it support dell latitude e7240**
A: I'm using it with a Dell latitude (not sure model number) with Windows 10 and it works great.

**Q: USB device not recognized, display connection might be limited. What can i do to fix this problem?**
A: This means that the USB-C port you are using isn’t capable of doing video. I believe it is called a data-only port and cannot so video through that connection. You will have to get a regular USB universal dock to get video out.

**Q: Is this compatible with the dell latitude 7390 (not the xps)?**
A: Hello, I have two laptops with me. A Work laptopwhich is a Dell latitude 5400, and a personal laptopa lenovo x1 carbon thinkpad, and I'm able to use the dievice one both computers without any issues. A couple of things to ensure is that 1. Your computer drivers are up to date, especially for your dual monitor drivers. 2. You're HDMI cables and HDMI Reader works well with the thunderbolt type- c port.

My actual Lenovo Dockstation finally died. If you've had one of those, you already know the situation: you can only use 2 external monitors. When I saw this docking station for less than $100, I thought the worst that could happen was that it wouldn't work, and I'd return it and invest in another Lenovo docking station. My Lenovo dock station finally died. If you've had one, you know the frustration of only being able to connect two external monitors. When I came across this docking station for less than $100, I thought, "The worst that can happen is that it doesn't work, and I'll just return it and invest in another Lenovo docking station." Pros: - Easy to set up - Display screen on dock actually provides you with decent stats on your connected hardware Cons: - I attempted to use a DisplayPort-to-HDMI uni-directional cable, and it did not work. The station will not recognize it. HDMI to HDMI or DisplayPort to DisplayPort was the only way the dock recognized the monitors. General Notes: - The back of the station will be weighed down with all your cables. Even with the suction bottom (which is a nice feature btw), it may trigger people's OCD when it comes to cable management. I read that you shouldn't kink up your wires, and everything will work smoothly. I hope that's the case, because the wires back there are really irking me. - I'm running it only on a 60w charger, but may upgrade to a 100w to see the difference. Only had it for a day, so I will report back on a 3 month review unless things get weird before then.
