**Q: If i am attaching a 4x4 to a 2x4 (3.5”+1.5”), what length would i get?**
A: 5+1/4" long, depending on how wet the lumber is. Dry lumber, longer fastener. Plus, you want to attach the 2x4 to the 4x4, that way you have more meat to hang onto, then I'd use a 4 " fastener.

**Q: how long is the un-threaded portion on a 2-1/2" long screw? ?**
A: about 1 inch
