A: Haven't used this clip as yet...don't know the measurements, but I belirve they are included in product description.

**Q: how wide do they open?**
A: They don't open. The slide lock slides back to allow the front to slide over the tarp.
then you slide it forward to lock it in place. I don't like these tarp clamps because of
the weak grip it has..
