## Description

WOCA Tannin Spot Remover is a ready-to-use water stain remover for black water marks, dark rings, and discoloration caused by tannin and moisture reacting in wood. Especially effective on oak and other tannin-rich species — including walnut and teak — where water, metal objects, plant pots, or standing moisture leave black marks that ordinary cleaners cannot remove. In the WOCA system, it is a targeted spot treatment used prior to restoring the original surface finish. Use it when a localized stain needs to be removed without treating the whole surface. Fresh stains respond faster than older marks, which may require several applications — patience is key. Works on unfinished, oiled, waxed, and soaped wood, including hardwood floors, furniture, countertops, tabletops, and dining tables. Apply to the stained area only. Spray directly onto the spot and leave for 30–60 minutes. Monitor and wipe off before the surrounding unstained wood begins to lighten — if left too long, the product may cause light patches around the treated area. For precise application on small spots, a cloth or cotton pad gives better control. Always test on a less visible area first. Wear gloves and eye protection during use. This product is designed to address tannin- and water-based discoloration. Less effective on pet urine, grease, or other non-tannin stains. After removal and once the surface is dry, reapply oil, wax, or soap to restore protection. For full surface prep before re-treatment, use WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner instead. Review: Be patient - You need to be patient. This product does work, but it's not instant at all. You should expect to let this sit against the wood for a while, and it might require repeated applications to get the desired results, but remember that dark stain didn't happen instantly either. Clean the surface well, apply this product liberally, and wait as long as you can before wiping it up. The active ingredient needs to stay wet to work, so covering the area with cling film can be helpful to prolong the working time of each application. Expect to wipe up yellow slime afterwards, those are the dissolved tannins.

Applied, covered with plastic wrap to stay moist and proved to be a poor choice. Don’t waste your money if you have a true water stain. I should have realized it wouldn’t work and recall having hardwood floors sanded and refinished in the past where the professional told me stains were impossible to remove.
