Also note that this is copper-clad ALUMINUM wire **Q: Can this be used to extend the length of my dc power supply cable on my 1000w amplifier for a utv speaker system** A: Max safe distance of 12volts ac/dc of 18 gauge wire is 10ft. If your going to power a 1000w amp you need 4 gauge wire. 18 gauge wire is good for low voltage lights, not powering or extending the length of the power cord for a 1000w amplifier. **Q: Can this be used for Christmas lights?** A: it somewhat yes? as long there is a positive and negative line **Q: Why is the max voltage for the 18G wire only 12V when their thinner 22G wire can handle up to 24V?** A: 18AWG wire can handle upto 48v, however for safety and stablity consideration, we suggest not to work more than 24v, better upto 12v. ## Frequently Bought Together - TYUMEN 16 Gauge Wire 100FT, 16/2 AWG Red Black Hookup Electrical Wire LED Strips Extension Cord 12V/24V DC Cable, 16AWG 2 Conductors Flexible Wire for in-Home, Autos, Schools use - TYUMEN 100FT 14/2 Gauge Red Black Cable Hookup Electrical Wire LED Strips Extension Wire 12V/24V DC, 14AWG Flexible Extension Cord for LED Ribbon Lamp Tape Lighting - Brightfour 3 Way 2 Pin Tap Wire Connectors - No Wire Stripping, Solderless, 14-18 AWG, Low Voltage, 12 Pack --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hr/products/152253615-tyumen-10-gauge-wire-100ft-10awg-red-black-electrical-wire](https://www.desertcart.hr/products/152253615-tyumen-10-gauge-wire-100ft-10awg-red-black-electrical-wire) --- *Product available on Desertcart Croatia* *Store origin: HR* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
