Informative and entertaining. Learn from it and adapt to your brand. This one is the same way- read it to improve your carb understanding, whether or not Holleys are your thing. I have never owned a 4 bbl Holley, but they are common and serve as a good example....something to learn about, develop an understanding, and apply where needed. If this doesn’t sound good, you can stick to adjusting idle speed or replacing the air filter. This is a person who thinks hard about why things work how they do, and how to make them better. Also, about what might be “how its always been done” but doesn’t really work. His suggested ideas are backed up with testing, not some silly anecdotal evidence. That method of supporting ones opinion is, sadly, common in this sort of book, but Mr. Vizard doesn’t do that. I can’t imagine the time he’s spent learning what went into this and the other books. Just so you know- It isn’t step by step instructions for one application, or a service or parts manual. I do wish that manifold pressures were given in psi absolute rather than vacuum, but power valves etc. are sold by opening vacuum....most of us live below 1000 ft. msl...I guess it works. It doesn’t take away from an excellent book. The perspective is original to this publication, I found it to be very helpful in the process. The author David Vizard references situations from his personal experience in tuning, which I also found to be helpful. He is a very respected Authority in the Automotive world with videos on YouTube and other publications.
