We used what someone suggested in the reviews. 1/3 cup mix 1 1/4 cup milk. We used 2% 1/2 cup heavy cream We churned it 25 minutes but that was a bit to long. It was hard coming out. 20 minutes would have been perfect. We froze the rest. My husband wanted it the next night. It was hard as a rock. He let it sit on counter for just a few minutes and it was soft serve again. This mix is flavorful, but if you want that vanilla strong then add a tiny bit of vanilla extract. We didn't add sugar for 2 reasons. 1- my husband is a diabetic 2 - It didn't need any. Tasted great just as we made it. This was a bit expensive but still worth it since it is a 6lb bag. Very easy to use. I bought airtight containers which makes it easier to get out. Quality was great. Would buy again.
