Review: Great Product (also how to fix refresh rate and vertical lines) - I picked up this touchscreen monitor for a Raspberry Pi project and have been putting it through its paces. Overall, it is a great, crisp little display, but your experience will definitely depend on the size you choose and your use case. If you are planning to use this for programming or reading a lot of text, the 7-inch model is just too small. The text scaling makes code hard to read comfortably without constant zooming. However, upgrading to the 10-inch model is perfectly acceptable and provides just enough screen real estate to comfortably navigate terminal windows, code editors, and data logs. Important Note for Raspberry Pi Users (How to fix faint vertical lines): When I first plugged it in, I noticed faint vertical lines across the panel. This isn't a defective screen! It's just a timing conflict because the Pi tries to guess generic HDMI settings. To fix it completely and get a crystal-clear image, you just need to force the native resolution at boot: Open a terminal on your Pi and open the boot file: sudo nano /boot/firmware/cmdline.txt (or /boot/cmdline.txt on older OS versions). Go to the very end of that single line of text, add a space, and paste this exact string: video=HDMI-A-1:1024x600M@60 Note that the above line if you want to try 50Hz, then then try this instead: video=HDMI-A-1:1024x600M@50 (Do not hit enter to make a new line—it must stay as one continuous line of text). Save and exit (Ctrl+O, Enter, then Ctrl+X) and reboot with: sudo reboot. This completely clears up the lines and locks the monitor into its native 60Hz refresh rate. If the lines persist, make sure to power the monitor from a dedicated wall adapter rather than the Pi's USB ports to avoid electrical noise. Highly recommended for hardware tinkering!
Review: Portable and Responsive Raspberry Pi Touchscreen Monitor - This 7-inch Raspberry Pi screen is a compact and highly responsive display that works perfectly as a portable monitor. The IPS 1024×600 resolution delivers clear visuals with good viewing angles, making it suitable for coding, DIY projects, and lightweight media use. The touchscreen is smooth and accurate, supporting multi-touch gestures that feel intuitive and responsive. Setup is truly plug-and-play—HDMI for signal and USB for power and touch, with no drivers required. It works seamlessly with Raspberry Pi 5/4/3 as well as Windows, Mac, and gaming consoles, making it very versatile. Dual built-in speakers are a nice bonus for basic audio output. The slim bezel design makes interaction easier, especially for swipe gestures. Overall, this is a reliable, portable display for makers, developers, and hobbyists who need a flexible secondary screen or Raspberry Pi interface on the go.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are windows IOT drivers available?**
A: This display works via HDMI, however the EDID presents a non-standard native resolution that may cause some things to have issues. If you're trying to get this to work on Raspberry Pi for Windows 10, use this in the config.txt to force the proper resolution:

hdmi_force_hotplug=1:0
hdmi_cvt=1024 600 60 6:0
hdmi_group=2:0
hdmi_mode=87:0
hdmi_drive=2:0
framebuffer_width=1024
framebuffer_height=600

Also, the touchscreen works fine on Win10/RasPi.

**Q: Is it easy to mount raspberry pi on the back of the 7inch display?**
A: Yes very easy. Just four small screws. I mounted a Raspberry Pi 4 on this screen and it works well

**Q: Would I be able to use this touch screen monitor for a regular windows computer?**
A: It worked for me right out of the box on Windows 10 with no drivers needed and no internet connection.

**Q: Windows 11: the touchscreen responds to touch but the touch is reflected on my main monitor, not on the Raspberry monitor itself. Can this be changed?**
A: Dear customer,thanks for reaching out. Yes, the touch can be changed to the 7'' monitor. Please refer to the below setting procedure.
Please go to Windows "display settings", and set this 7'' screen as the "main display", then touch function works properly and input is on the 7" screen.
In windows, you can open control panel, and change to "view by small icon". This then gave you an option for "tablet pc settings". The window that this opens allows a Configure/Setup option which allows you to choose which device receives your touch input.
Please be free to write to our after-sale mail <service.us@roadom.vip> if any questions about our products. We'll respond within 24 hours. Thanks and have a nice day!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great little screen for a great price - check out the one with a stand though
*by D***N on May 30, 2025*

Disclaimer: I received this product for free from ROADOM. TLDR: Love the screen, hate the cable it comes with. Recommend to pay the little extra for the one with the stand. Pro: -Great price -Great Screen -Good Features -Great customer support Con: -Bit amateur feeling compared to the stand version -Micro-USB cable instead of USB-C (the stand version has USB-C) -That stupid HDMI ribbon cable! To start, I like the screen. I previously purchased the ROADOM screen with stand, and was contacted by ROADOM after speaking with their customer support from the previous purchase. Their support is amazing, so you can't go wrong there. This screen is super simple, works like a charm, and looks super clean. The touch feature worked perfectly out of the box, and the instructions get the job done. It even has blue color removal built-in for eye comfort! I connected a RPi4b, so I used their included micro-hdmi cable. This is where they lose me. I HATE this ribbon cable so much. It's not that bad and it works, but god I just hate it. The screen that comes with the stand has a much better, stronger cable that connects directly to the HDMI port on the screen (see third photo). I suppose this means I could connect a second device into the HDMI port while having the pi connected, but the HDMI port is disabled while the ribbon cable is connected, so there's no real reason. Ultimately, it feels more...'raw' compared to the screen with the stand. That feels like a product, and this feels like a hobbyist's device. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of that with all my RPi's, but I just like the stand version more. I'll use this for a dashboard RPi on my counter, to display weather and whatnot. It'll serve nicely for years.
