You should be aware of your most important right, the right to remain silent. Remember silence is golden because if you don't say it the police can not use it against you. Answer only what your required to answer such as name, DOB, address and drivers license information. Other than the weather do not say or offer any other information. If you are being asked for additional information stop and ask if you are the subject of an investigation. If the answer is yes, immediately invoke your 5th amendment right to remain silent and tell them you won't speak to them without an attorney representing you is present. If you are asked to come in to answer some question and you are not the victim, do not do so without having an attorney with you. Spending a couple of hundred dollars now may save you thousands later, don't be pound wise and penny foolish. If you are arrested say nothing without an attorney. It is reasonable to believe they have already have established probable cause to make the arrest so don't add fuel to the fire by providing any more information other than what is required. Trying to talk your way out only tends to dig the hole deeper as what you say will more than likely be documented. Again, SAY NOTHING and invoke your rights. This book is also very good of explaining the prosecution process as a whole from arraignment, bail, trial, plea bargaining and sentencing. Anyone who has a family member in the criminal justice system pipeline will have a better understanding about the in's and out's of the criminal justice Process and what may happen Just remember to say absolutely nothing and invoke you right to remain silent when in doubt. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Understand Criminal Law Better *by J***H on December 7, 2011* This book does a great job in explaining the different aspects of the courtroom and there are several definitions that may be easily understood by the average reader. On top of this, there are several examples to explain each topic that is being covered. I gave this book four stars, mainly because it is a book that references things that go on in the courtroom but not how to present it in any fashion. In example, you may know what the Hearsay rule is, but how do you introduce it during your court procedure? This book wouldn't go that far in depth. At least in my opinion.
