Instead of putting a grit surface with double sided tape, save yourself the hassle and order Handiramsps aluminum tread. They are much easier and took me about 30 seconds to install. It's like sandpaper on the bottom of your shoes. You'll end up scratching floors. They make specific products for leather soled shoes. **Q: Will this adhere to a garage floor that gets slippery when wet?** A: If the floor is perfectly clean and dry when you put it down, then probably. If not, then no. I have no problem on a wood slanted surface outside that gets frequently wet. That's actually why I put it out there.
