My all time favorite album of his was and still is Yellow Brick Road. However, his long list of top 40 releases demontrated his continuing staying power as a rock artist. At the moment, I can't think of any other British Invasion solo artist that had as many hits or that exhibited as much creativity as Elton John. That is unless you were to consider John Lennon, Paul Mc Cartney or George Harrison's collective contributions after the break up of the Beatles. This collection makes a great follow up to his Volume 1 Greatest Hits collection which includes Ctocidile Rock, my personal top 40 favorite of Elton John. On the Yellow Brick Road album, I like Love Lies Bleeding in My Hand and the lead track song is not included in either of his the Vol 1 or 2 Greatest Hits albums. Owning both volumes 1 and 2 means that you can hear them one at a time or play them back to back. Owning Yellow Brick Road means you will experince the album concept and mix of compositions that make it a great classic rock double album. Island Girl pops into my mind as a personal favorite on Volume 2 that is a must have for any Elton John fan as is, at least for me. Levon also included in Volume 2.
