The fit was loose, but not so much that I had any concerns while running. I ran for almost 2 hrs on frozen ground, in the wind, and it was never above 20 F (-6 C). I did wear a very thin nylon sock liner with it. My feet were warm and comfortably dry throughout my run. Normally, on a run this cold, my feet would be numb with cold and just pounding it out. I'll try them out with my xc ski boots, next. I wear a cotton sock under mine, and my feet rarely sweat so that is not an issue I encounter with them as far as I can tell they breathe well.
