Nylon string guitars are wider than guitars with metal strings** A: It's pretty universal. The only one I think it would have trouble with is those narrow telecaster headstocks or, perhaps, the oddly thin ESP/LTD headstocks. Also, it won't work at all on headless guitars. **Q: What exactly is the 'specially formulated foam rubber' material? I need to evaluate its suitability for this mounting position and climate.** A: It is just closed cell foam padding. It does the trick protecting the guitar neck **Q: Whats the max weight it can handle? I have a solid body epiphone les Paul** A: I have a solid body Gibson Les Paul on this guitar stand and it works just fine. The stand should be fastened to a stud or a ledger board fastened to a stud. I would not hang the Epiphone on this stand or any stand if the fasteners were screwed into nothing but drywall. **Q: Can the mounting plate be rotated so that the single hole is at the top? That would make it more stud-friendly from an engineering standpoint.** A: I don't believe you can place the single hole at the top. The left and right arms are in the down position, then close when they sense the weight of the guitars.
