There's really NO WAY to test it properly, unless you have it set on a tripod or pedestal (HANDS FREE), and hold the metal object in your hand and walk to a location, then see if the metal detector 'moves' in your direction. Otherwise, when testing this unit, you have to use your hands to hold it; which in turn, does not give an accurate test because of movement. It would not detect them. Vendor will not accept return, have tried to get a valid return label, but haven't had any success at getting a valid return label.
