DOGAIN Smart Light Bulb Works with Alexa Google Home E12 Base WiFi Candelabra LED Light Bulb Color Changing Dimmable Chandelier Light Bulbs 360 lm 35w Equivalent 4 Pack (2.4GHz WiFi Only) - desertcart.com

Review: BEFORE YOU BUY! - BEFORE YOU START: As a installation tip, turn off power, install bulbs, turn on and off 3 times until they blink, and then connect them in the app via BLUETOOTH FIRST. After they are registered, THEN conenct them to your wi-fi. When we rewired and replaced our fan/lights, we needed new bulbs. I started with the Cync/GE Candelabra E12s because there were already part of our home eco system. But the only options available were WARM white with no RGB, and no COOL white setting. (We prefer it in our workspace to keep us productive! And pictures turn out nicer in our opinon) So those were returned and we went for something else. We got a different desertcart set that claimed they had programmable white, but alas, those were ALSO WARM white. Returned. I was starting to think that COOL white wasn't an option, until I stumbled on these lights. BOOM. Game changer. These came in a rather unassuming box and were, for the most part, cheap looking. The bulbs themselves are pretty hefty, and seem well-constructed. Using the instructions in the box, the installation seemed pretty straight-forward...exccept it wasn't. You see, I don't like giving phone access to EVERYTHING if I know the use shouldn't utilize them. So why was the app requiring permission for my exact location and camera/mic access? (Yes, I have been informed that geo-location is mostly for connected home "when I'm here" setups, but come ON) anyway, after trying to bypass the attempts, I finally gave in and allowed them the permissions they asked for. Then, the bulbs were FINALLY recognized. (go figure!) BUT they wouldn't connect to the internet right away. So here's where I'd normally go nuts, however, in the past, I had dealt with this SAME issue with bulbs from FEIT. So I did the thing I did before (as mentioned at the beginning of this review) bluetooth first, wifi second. and badabing bada-boom: connected. Went to the Alexa app, found the lights, (Dogain) paired, created a room and we were done! While the ordeal SEEMS like it took forever, the actual amount of time spent from unboxing to completion was like... 15 minutes (Time really slows down when you're upset!). As with literally ALL RGB lights, colored light will not create a bright source, and installing them in a place meant for big lighting doesn't mean they're going to create them. These bulbs are bright *enough* when they are on white-tones but they are NOT very bright when they are set to color. Overall, the light souce is exactly what we were looking for; Cool White light and the option for RGB for the kids and ambiance/background. I quite like them! As for the permissions, those were UN-granted immediately after the completed install, and if you're utilizing Alexa/Google Home, there's no reason to have them on.
Review: Wonderful Smart Light Bulbs for Those on a Budget! - Smart light bulbs have been something I've always wanted to invest in, so once I got an Alexa for Christmas, I figured it was the perfect time to make that dream a reality. I searched the internet for cheap candelabra smart bulbs, not wanting to pay the $40 for one Hue bulb ALONGSIDE the Hue bridge for an additional $30-$40. Finding a set of three smart light bulbs for $10 cheaper was like a dream come true, especially since I have 3 bulbs in my bedroom light. Why pay $40+ for 1 Hue light bulb when I can pay $30 for 3? When I first received them in the mail I was honestly surprised how small they were. This isn't a bad thing, as I have small lights and they don't stick out awkwardly! I followed the instructions that were provided with my bulbs and installed the app on my phone. (Someone stated in a review that they did not get any instructions, so maybe they fall out of boxes?) What's really nice is that they don't need an Alexa or a Google Home to work and you can easily control them through the app, which is updated often so your bulbs will always be kept up to date! My only suggestion for the app is to add a Grouping feature so I can group my three bedroom lights and turn all three of them on at once or set them all to the same color without having to ask Alexa to change them to the basic colors she can recognize. I am planning to add at least one more bulb to my collection in another room, so having a feature that would allow me to control two separate rooms with multiple bulbs in them would be wonderful! Both the yellow and white lights are pleasant to look at and the RGB colors are very crisp! The three light bulbs together are very bright, however my only complaint is that these light bulbs don't dim as much as I'd like them too. I can tell Alexa to dim them to 1% and they still seem oddly bright. This is not too much of an issue though, as when I do want them extremely dim, I just tell Alexa to turn the lights blue or red, but if you're looking for extremely dim light bulbs, these may not be the bulbs for you Something fun I noticed is that both the blue and purple colors work as florescent black lights! I've been working on an art concentration consisting of neon colors, so having a light bulb I can adjust to become the perfect florescent black light is wonderful for me! :) Not necessarily a "feature" the average consumer would be looking for, but a very welcomed one!! I will definitely be re-purchasing these light bulbs once they kick the bucket (not really sure when that will be as I only use these at night!) Thank you for making a very cheap and affordable smart light, I have been very impressed so far and I will definitely be back to do business with this company again :)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not Bad but Not Noteworthy
*by J***T on January 8, 2021*

Honestly, you get what you pay for here. Firstly- kinda annoying to set up multiple ones if they're on the same fixture so be ready to fight them a bit but you'll get there just have some patience and be ready to deal with flickering lights for a bit. Once you have them set up the first time, it's easy to do so again if needed but you shouldn't have to so no worries there. Second - these aren't the brightest or deepest colors but they do change well and have a good variability of colors and settings. They get overpowered by my computer or phone if I'm streaming but make for a ok background in those settings. They're also slow to change settings so no fun flickering settings or interesting party mode, just slow fades that kinda suck. Third - the preset modes/scenes pretty much suck and it's annoying and difficult to set up any mode yourself but it's easy enough to set up a Night, Morning, and a few other basic modes that you may want. Finally - Alexa and such are ok with getting connected but not great... would love for that to be simpler but again, they're cheap and they work so not much to complain about.
