The outer and inner boxes are breeze to clean. Washed in dishwasher on two occasions only -- so time will tell how it will hold up. I knocked one star off for the completely unnecessary 'labels' on the bottom of the compartment -- 'grains', 'fruit' and so on. The sections are all labeled so I never forget to pack all of the food groups (his school is super strict about that) and they're all about the right size for the portions he needs. My only complaint, and it's something that drives me absolutely nuts, is the lip that goes around the outside of the insert tray. Every time we wash it water invariably gets inside that lip and then never dries out. I'm always concerned it's going to cause mold on the inside.
