It is compact enough to not take up too much space in my shower, yet big enough to cover all areas of scalp efficiently. It fits nicely in my hand and gives a luxurious scrubbing. The actual massage prongs have a gentle firmness but not at all hard. It definitely feels like it gets the blood flowing. I like that it is one solid piece so there are no separate parts which can become loose, or detached, or fill up with water. My hair does not become tangled at all while using it (my hair is straight and fine). First, it’s way more gentle on my scalp than the plastic one I have (which feelsgood but scratches my scalp). The points on this are pointed enough to get through my thick, long hair to the scalp, which I need because my scalp produces a lot of oil (and accompanying flakes and oil build up). Since I became pregnant it’s gotten even worse and this brush helps my clarifying shampoo really get to my scalp while helping to loosen up what’s on there. It’s definitely made a difference.
