Still looks great on display though. Haven't really used it for any actually tasks that would indicate the use of a sword. In fact I'm not sure I ever will be in a situation in which a sword will be the best tool to call upon. Yet, if that situation were to arise at least I'll be well prepared. I did however slice a papaya with this sword, probably more difficult a task than using an actual kitchen knife, but also more fun this way. The papaya was delicious. It's possible the sword actually made the papaya taste better but I only had one papaya so I was unable to perform an experiment with a control group. Even if I had more papaya to cut with other swords and knives all papayas are different so the reliability of the study would be poor.I recently moved and I keep the sword in my bedroom, it actually provides some piece of mind at night in the event there were an intruder. I like to imagine that if someone were to break in with thoughts of robbing or even raping my fiancee and me those thoughts would quickly dissipate once they saw me standing naked with my shaft in one hand, while I clutch my sword in the other. I think a sword is the last weapon an intruder would expect to encounter, perhaps not as fatal as a handgun but definitely as intimidating if not more so because seriously who owns a sword? I do, I own a sword. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very heavy Blade. I sharpened it and then cut down about fifty thick sumack. some of it was 3" thick. It cut through everything. You can purchase a better quality sword right off of Amazon for half the money. For $299 through another place that distributes swords you can have custom made swords. There isn't as much value at the moment in these. Purchase a nice sword with certifications and someday soon they will be worth the investment. Shop wisely. I enjoy the swords I have. Damascus steel I find more interesting. I've found this one to be pretty much indestructible. It has a heavy 1060 blade. I have two acid etched katana. One was $130 with certifications. The other was only $110. That was custom made. In Japan they would be worth thousands. I consider them artwork. I love all of my Swords. When I can. This is heavy. It's well made. I like my 1065 carbon steel katana that weighs a little less. This is a work of art. It definitely won't be used for much beyond display but that's not because it feels cheap. This sword is solid ! It came fast too. As I mentioned, this is my first sword but I looked it over & I can't find a flaw. The only reason I didnt include a pic of the blade is because it came high oiled & I still need to order a display stand .
