They’ve managed to survive the wash and dry process. I intend to use these leggings for sun protection while surf fishing. I’ll know whether they work well for that purpose by this weekend.In the meantime, the leggings fit my thighs and calves well, but are a little loose around the waist. This is unsurprising as my calves and thighs are larger proportionally to my waist relative to the average man. That said, the distance between the waist and crotch seems a little short. This is problematic as this causes the waistband to slip a bit in the back after I sit down.For any interested, I bought the 2XL. Given that I’m a short-legged 5’9 (and weigh 210lbs), I really don’t think these would make a good pair of leggings for anyone much taller.***UPDATE***I used the leggings for surf fishing off the southern California coast last weekend. The waves were minimal, but they still caused sand to somehow get caught in the cuffs of the leggings.At this point you may be wondering how that’s possible. After all, cuffs belong on shirtsleeves, not pants. I was just as confused.Before wading into the water, I smoothed the leggings over the tops of my over-the-ankle diving boots. Yet, somehow, the leggings wound up curling outward and catching loose sand in the surf. In doing so, they effectively formed weighted cuffs, which I had to continuously unroll and empty of sand, at my ankles.It baffles me that the leggings are so loose at the ankles that they would roll upward and catch sand. Whoever designed these leggings does not seem to have any experience dealing with shore diving or surf fishing.In spite of the issue with the ankles, the leggings seemed to have served the purpose for which I purchased them. They appear to have prevented my legs from getting burned by UV rays. However, it did it’s job. He was going white water rafting and is white as a ghost. These pants fit just right and he did not come back sunburned.
