I overwinter my plants in my bathroom using this lightbulb. Since my bathroom is not on my regular heating system, I've added a very small space heater called Lasko My Heat which uses only 200 watts, and have converted this into my winter plant room. My plants love it. **Q: I have S.A.D. is it effective, is it expensive on electricity in comparison to the energy saver lights?** A: It is about the same efficiency as a traditional lightbulb. I use one to prevent S.A.D. and it is very worthwhile. From a Yahoo answer, the cost works out to aboutP = 100W = 0.1kW t = 10 hr.
