Instead of hauling an amp to mic, I dropped this on my pedal board. Anything in the loop just goes after this pedal but before the DI. It weighs about a thousandth what my tube amp weighs and lets the engineer control the monitors instead of me competing with the other amps on stage. Also, I have this Marshall-ish one and the Vox-ish one so I can switch between radically different tones without fussing with either two heavy amps or my digital board. Each one wants its own >300 mA line to the voodoo, but worth it. At a typical bar gig you won’t have the kind of audiophile audience who could tell the difference between this and the real thing anyway.
