FIRST, you need to know it is NOT A HAIR DRYER! It is a hot air "styling tool". You can use it on your dry hair, or you can wash your hair and dry it with a dryer, leaving it damp, then use this styling tool. I buy the 1-1/2 " size because I want a more relaxed curl. My hair is very straight, thick, and finely textured. This tool makes it so easy for me to get ready in the mornings. I just grab a chunk of hair and count to 15 or more and release. I've never had it tangle my hair! I probably use it on 6 or 8 sections of my hair while counting to 15, each time and I'm done! Doesn't get much easier than that! The tool lasts a long time, 3 or 4 years, with daily use. You DO need to keep lint out of the air intake area at the end of the tool. I occasionally use a straight pin, with the tool off and unplugged, to gently lift out any lint that might collect there. It probably works best for short to medium hair. I've used it for both. I also used it on the ends of hair when I had long hair. You just can't wind your long hair around it. I used it on damp hair and it makes loose ringlet curls out of my medium length thick hair. I’m pleased with the price and how quiet it is. I’m a little worried that it seems fragile, but I didn’t need all the fancy extras that the other air brushes that I saw had. I normally don’t buy items that are rated less than 4.5 stars, but I’m glad I took a chance on this one.
