Most paint is not flexible and will peel or crack when you take your first step. My son wanted to dress like Chris from Bravest Warriors for a school dance. This required bright blue boots. After much online research (and a previous lesson learned from spray painting shoes) I came upon the Angelus leather paint. We prepped a pair of black rubber boots by wiping thoroughly with acetone (just used an acetone nail polish remover) and painted two coats of Angelus with a cheap sponge brush. The color was vibrant & clear, even over black. The boots lasted him all night at the dance and really looked great with the costume. The paint scraped away a little where he had scuffed the boot on a wall. (Any shoe would have.) I highly recommend this product for costume & Comicon outfit creations.
