I bought this 3 pack and put a new one on her when the other one seemed to stop working. The collar is easy to use and is adjustable to fit virtually any dog since it can be cut to fit. The 3 pack is a great value for the money (because I'm sure I paid a lot more at the pet store for one). It's a beautiful light purple color and smells wonderful! The collar flaking will not make the collar less effective. **Q: How do you put it on dog** A: Measure your dog's neck, and then measure how much of the collar you'll need. Cut the collar (it's made of rubber) to the size you need and leave a few extra inches on to be able to loop through the plastic buckle. While I am adjusting the collar, he tries to put his head in the new collar. They last a little over three months for our golden retriever. We can tell when it is time as his anxiety starts to increase. We have tried other calming tricks, oils, etc. Sure each pet is different in how they react or respond.
