During the day it is no problem as she is potty trained, however, at night she produces 32+ oz of liquid. Needless to say, in an attempt to avoid waking up every two hours to change her, (or making her wake up to go to the bathroom) we have tried many, many products for both her and the bed. All of the mattress protector options have either been fitted (which is a problem for a top bunk and require a great deal more work to change than an sit-on-top protector) or so thin that they get crumpled and move around. This often means that they move out from under her and the bed gets wet anyway. Enter "Epica Premium Quality Bed Pads (34" x 52")" I took a gamble because the only picture shows it on a double or queen bed however, as you can see by my photo, this sized mattress pad covers almost to the edges of a twin bed and goes quite far down the bed too. They are a nice, thick, heavyweight material combination so they don't bunch up and manage to stay in place all night. In addition to this, last night my daughters g-tube popped out of her stomach and started pumping liquid onto the mattress protector. It did not leak through to the mattress at all. There are many other mattress protectors that will do the job, but for me, these are the best because of the total ease of changing and the fact that they are so large that not once has one slipped around and moved out of place at night. Why does the 2nd set, supposed to be the same, bunches all up?** A: I don't know why she sticks to the second set -- could it be the fabric of her nightclothes? I can only wear nylon gowns now; no cotton, no flannel, no knit.
