Bought it primarily for visual effect, only run the heat on low - if at all. I've seen various faux fireplaces in other peoples homes and AirBnb rentals, and we thought it would be nice in the winter to have one in the bedroom for a bit of ambiance. I liked this one because it had windows on 3 sides, not just the front. You can run just the logs, or with low heat, or with high. The fan is reasonably quiet, like a quiet hair dryer, but it does throw a fair amount of heat. The thermostat is a nice touch. What I didn't expect is a 'brightness' dial for the logs, you can dim them separately regardless of heat function. Also, the 'burning embers log pile' is a particularly good facsimile of a actual fire place, and the 'flames' are better than some. Whoever engineered it managed to make the pattern complicated enough that it appears random and realistic (if you don't study it to long) - it would be nice if there were a touch of blue in the pattern and brightness variad a little more, but for the price this is a better fake than most others I've seen. The heater box itself is pretty light to move around, and though the warning labels want you to keep it well away from anything flammable like drapes I don't see this thing as being a fire hazard unless you do something really dumb with it. Regarding shipping, UPS sent this thing all over the country before we got it so it was late (not Amazon's fault) but it arrived without damage - thanks to a manufacturers sturdy box with reinforcements in the corners I suspect - kudos to them for not skimping on the packaging. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good... *by M***T on Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2019* It's cute. Haven't used it extensively... It's for our RV... thermostat is the "click" variety ie turn it until it clicks to set the temperature desired.Best way to do this is to turn the heat option on when the room is at a comfortable temp for your during the day... Turn the thermostat knob until you hear a click and stop... Thermostat is now set at whatever temperature the room is currently at. If you want it warmer, turn the knob slightly to the right... Doesn't take much... Need it cooler? Turn it left...I've tested it, to see if mine shuts off, and it does... I've also left it on long enough for it to kick back on.On a cool morning, set at 750 watt option, it warmed up the space by 5° in about 8 minutes... Not bad.As for the cord (always a concern with RVs), stayed cool to the touch.If you're looking for ambiance of a fire... Not bad... It's doable... Works well enough with the lights off, while watching a movie and drinking hot chocolate, to add a cozier feel to the evening.If anything changes, I will update this review. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good and Sharp *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2019* The box this came in was severely damaged when the delivery was made. I opened it and found one of the side “panes” of a good plastic material was displaced. It fit in, and it’s not going anywhere, so good enough.It plugs in easily and I keep it on low and it does a good job. I vacuumed the rug the other day and leaning over near it I scraped my arm quite badly on the back right corner which is a sharp metal corner. I’m on blood thinners and I live alone. It bled a lot. Just beware. I’ve put tape on the corners and intend to be far more careful.
