## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be attached to the top of my Thinkpad laptop screen?**
A: This problem has already been solved. There are a handful of companies that offer a product that will let you attach 1 or two small monitors to the back of a laptop screen (with magnets to remove)

Here is one brand... "SideTrak"
https://www.amazon.com/stores/SideTrak/page/BB06159F-1F7B-43CE-B6E1-CB901C43BE38?ref_=ast_bln

I would love to use this but my company "locks down" third party drivers or services. (If one of these "just works" with Windows 10 drivers I might get it.

**Q: I have two usb-c ports on my lenovo t490, is it possible to hook 2 of the m14 monitors to my laptop and create a 3 monitor setup?**
A: yes, you can. The good thing is that it has pass through capabilities, meaning that if you connect your power brick directly to one of the displays, it will pass energy to your T490. In this way, you can use both usb-c on you laptop for each display and still getting energy to your computer. I even tested this using an external battery without issues.

**Q: Will this work with my own (short type-c pd cable) type-c cable or i have to use the one comes up with the monitor? again question is only about cable**
A: The cable that comes with is a Thunderbolt C cable. A regular usb C cable may not be able to handle the data load for video. The included cable is fairly short and quite stiff but works well.

**Q: Is anyone using an external usb-c pd battery to power this? i know my laptop will power it by itself but i am looking to extend runtime away from ac**
A: It has two USB C ports with the ability to do pass through power. I use the power adapter on one port, then a cable to connect to laptop. This lets me power both off of one power adapter.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality and Portability all in one!
*by on Reviewed in the United States March 27, 2020*

I got this portable monitor for my programming needs. It's incredibly convenient to have a reliable spare monitor when you're on the go, whether it be in a coffee shop, at home, or waiting for a flight at the airport. I have basic needs:1. The screen should produce a good quality display2. The build quality should be long lasting while still light weight3. The set up should be easy and unclutteredWith all three of these, the ThinkVision 14 nails everything perfectly. Usually, with products like these, there's always something that is off--but honestly I cannot point to any complications or issues with the device.Would it be nice to be wireless, touch screen, and standard 13/15 inches instead of 14? Yeah, but when a portable monitor weighs so little, works so reliably, and sets up so clean, then those added features don't matter!Update (5/2022): Just wanted to update you all. This little guy is still going over 2 years later! I can't leave home without my portable monitor. Most times I actually prefer the laptop+ThinkVision combo to a standard desktop setup just because of the ease of travel, mobility, and comfort. Just the durability of this monitor after all of these years is a testament to its build quality and reliability. There are some scratches from being thrown into the bag without its cover, but that can easily be overcome with the included sleeve. Overall, this screen is so successful at fulfilling all my digital nomad needs!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tried multiple options - by far the best
*by on Reviewed in the United States March 5, 2024*

Since I have been quite of bit of hands-on data as well as report production and design work for the last few months, I recently tried several options for a portable monitor to use with my 14 Inch MacBook Pro. My requirements when I started were: light weight, single USB C/Thunderbolt (eg no separate power needed), and for it to be approximately the same size as the MacBook at least height-wise.With my first purchase (and return) I quickly found out that despite the many options all touting the same specs, I had to add a few requirements. Shape (needed it to be 14 wide), built-in ability to stand on its own vs a floppy cover solution, and most importantly, reasonably accurate color. Also, pass-through power is a very nice-to-have so that there's only one USB C Thunderbolt cable connected to the Mac and power can connect to the monitor and pass back through to the Mac through the one Thunderbolt cable. This monitor met all the requirements above. The color is -very- accurate. A side-by-side comparison to the other portables was instantly clear. No need to run through lots of tests (although I did try extensively to adjust them. The ThinkVision worked perfectly out of the box.Another really nice feature is the way they implemented the "kickstand". It's not really a kickstand but more of a fold-out base. The connections are built in to that which offset them from the edge of the screen unlike all the others, which means you can stand it up right against the Mac even with cables plugged into both sides.I -thought- I was going to have to trade off weight when comparing choices, but I am certain this is the same and possibly lighter than the Arzopa, my second choice. I don't have a precise scale to verify this. However I did a blind "place one in my hand" test and picked the lighter as the ThinkVision. If I can get my hands on a scale while I still have these I will update. Be aware that the specs claim the others are all lighter than the ThinkVision, which again I doubt. In any case, it is negligible either way.Lastly, as a nice feature, it comes with a felt sleeve. This is perfect for my bike bag and backpack to protect against scratches or worse. The one trade-off that is real is the price. This is approximately 90ish dollars more than several other appealing-looking options currently. Make no mistake, this monitor is worth that and more if you are planning to use it often at all. Personally I will always pay for true quality if a piece of equipment is clearly better than the rest. If you are a Mac user you probably feel the same. This monitor is a worthy companion for a road warrior, anyone who moves their work spot often, or just wants to keep their work space flexible.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Portable Monitor
*by on Reviewed in the United States April 17, 2020*

As far as portable monitors go, this is hard to beat. I initially selected this display after purchasing an ASUS MB16AC. That monitor was OK, but I found the case/ stand a deal breaker. The purpose of a portable monitor is to be _portable_ and the stand with the ASUS is not robust or easy to configure on an uneven surface. The crux of the issue is that the ASUS and other folio-style stands is that they don't allow continuous adjustment.Enter the lenovo. It weighs about as much as the _case_ for the ASUS. It's stand offers stability and continuous adjustment just like a laptop. It offers 45w passthrough, which should be enough if your laptop only has one USB-C port or you're using a phone. And not only does it have ports on either side, they are not flush with the display surface. This allows the display to sit flush with your laptop display – something I didn't anticipate being one of my favorite things about this monitor. All in all, the display panel itself is about as good as it could be. It's incredibly lightweight, easy to use on a variety of surfaces, it can be adjusted flush with your laptop panel, and the polyester sleeve / case does it's job. It would be nice to have a more robust case, but having seen older portable lenovo models with slide-on plastic cases that are cracked from use, I appreciate the durability of the sleeve provided with this model. There is also some coil whine when I power my Macbook Pro 13" from the display, but that doesn't bother me much personally.I've gotten more use out of the Lenovo in the first week than the ASUS in about a year.
