Still, I put it together, (2 steps, easy), read the manual, (standard controls, no timer switch) and carried it to my son's room. (Full disclosure: I have arthritis and a fractured spine, I cannot lift anything heavy....I carried it with one hand. That's impressive!) So, I let it settle for a few hours and switched it on at about 50% and left the room with the door shut. Two hours later, I walked into a greenhouse in comparison to the previous temperature! I left it on low all night near his bed, (the metal does get very very hot, as they all do but he is 10 and not likely to be bothered by it), and when I went to wake him for school he had had to switch it off as he was too hot! Judging by the warmth output so far and price, plus the guarantee I will be buying a few more of these to use in the other rooms. I am not sure what the cost to run is per se, but it's definitely cheaper than the previous outdated radiator so far. Don't buy expecting for a large room *by A***N on 3 December 2023* It's very small, weighs just under 3kg. I have it under my desk in my very cold living room and it's keeping my legs and feet nice and toasty. Don't buy this expecting to heat a small room. It's designed for very very small spaces or local heating. I just got this because it was a little extra bundled with the larger heater I ordered. Currently on my tariff as of Dec 2023, it's 36p/kwh in the day and 14p/kwh overnight. My storage heaters cost a fortune even on reduced tariff. This keeps me warm for 23p an hour in the day and if I'm doing an overnight, only 9p an hour.
