We purchased two for the office, the motor went out on both within weeks of having them. I've contacted Vertdesk via the Contact Us link on their website and will return and update this comment with the resolution.Vendor responded (not vertdesk but BeyondTheOfficeDoor) and explained what was happening. Because the building lost power the control box went into safe mode. It would only go down very slowly. Once lowered completely continue to hold the down button until you hear 3 beeps. These beeps indicate the orientation has been re-calibrated in the control box. Everything started working again as it should.
