Can epsom salt be used** A: Epsom Salt is Magnesium Sulphate and salt normally used for ponds is Sodium Chloride. But they need a healthy coat of slime on them to prevent illness, fungus or injuries. It's just as important as using chlorine remover. Aquarium salt (not Epsom or table or any other) protects that body slime. It's not visible, but it is necessary for good health.
