Many of the pen are overtightened. You may need to push the silicon grip out of the way to get a good hold on the bottom of the pen to unscrew. After replacing the cartridge, try not to return the pen to the overtightened state. **Q: Where are they made?** A: If they are made in Mexico, watch out! The barrel cracks and renders the pen unusable. There is a difference. **Q: Are these needle point?** A: I bought the.7 and they are needle point. Looking at the picture of these, I believe they are as well. The metal tip looks different. Either way, you should be pleased with the pens. I have several colors in a variety of needle point and metal tip and they all write well. The gel ink dries quickly and looks great on the paper. I switched to the EnerGel from another brand of gel pen a year ago when my daughter was visiting and had one of the purple pens. I prefer the .7 as it's not as fine as the .5 but, if you like really fine writing, the.5 would probably be the one you want.
